Erica Burns
Company: Erica
Burns Designs
|
Erica Burns is a crafter of jewelry.
She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work. She
works full time as the director of a social work program but has
been crafting ever since she can
remember "making
something out of nothing". Erica is inspired by nature,
specifically the ocean, woods, animals... and is in awe of
how God made this amazing and beautiful world for us to live!
She is also inspired by the
many moods and personalities
of women.
Erica loves the diversity of DC — the huge political
culture, the cool lounges and trendy night spots, and the
ton of ethnic food (especially in like Adams Morgan), and she
is also a fan of the Redskins. She loves how the whole
city's mood depends on our football team! Erica's favorite craft
mediums are metal and wire wrapping and enjoys "just
getting in there and manipulating that wire into something lovely"!

Shayne
Rioux and Chris Radz
are together known as Novelty
Kitten. They craft silly things and whatever
they fancy — literally. They each have
been crafting since childhood. Shayne has memories of
making "carrot
and broccoli people". Favorite colors
include fuchsia, magenta, raspberry, hot pink, purple
and recently Chris has been leaning towards lime green. Shayne
and Chris think living in the DC area is "damn spiffy" and
enjoy the free museums and the National Zoo. They
are inspired by hearts,
houses, family and friends. Both Shayne and Chris are mothers
and enjoy spending time with their children. Chris also spends
free time "memorizing the inner-workings of phosphorylation".
Shayne has a psychotic pug named
Frida Kahlo (get it? She’s got a mustache and unibrow),
a fat blind cat named Sophie who can eat deep-fried chicken
like nobody’s
business, a tiny kittykat name Patsy Cline who is the evil mistressmind
of the house, and an orange tabby named Elvis Presley who was
a frat boy in a previous life.

Artwork
Blog: arty4ever.blogspot.com
|
Michael Auger is an artist
of offbeat paintings, prints and one-of-a-kind gifts. He holds
a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Columbus College of Art and
Design but doesn't let a formal art education prevent him from
having fun. His artwork features an assortment of whimsical
characters and many of his pieces reveal secret, special effects
when viewed under a blacklight. Michael is inspired by the "supernatural
and unusual that hide behind the veil of reality" and
believes that "the world is better off with a bit
more silliness and magic". Michael also works as
a graphic designer, illustrator and animator.

Regina X. Jiron Company: Bead
Jewelry by Shopgirl
Blog: BeadJewelryShopgirl.blogspot.com |
Regina
X. Jiron is a self-admitted
compulsive beader. She finds creative satisfaction in crafting
beadwoven pieces, weaving tiny bead by tiny bead, and coaxing them
into artistic treasures to adorn the body. A quote from her favorite
painter, Van Gogh, sums her artistic approach: "Great
things are done by a series of small things brought together." Regina's
jewelry has been featured in WickedlyChic.com, CraftRevolution.com and
Belle Armoire magazine. Her design expertise has been showcased
in Step by Step Beads magazine (Nov/Dec 2007) and an upcoming
book on jewelry details for release in Spring 2008. Regina is
also a featured artist in the annual holiday gift show organized
by the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.
showcasing the work by a select group of women artisans and designers.
